About the Movie
Umro Ayyar is an upcoming Pakistani action film in Urdu, slated for release in 2024. Directed by Azfar Jafri and written by Atif Siddique, the film is inspired by the classical Persian fictional character “Umro Ayyar.
Azfar Jafri assembled a talented VFX team in Islamabad and brought on board well-known Pakistani actors for the film “Umro Ayyar – A New Beginning.” The cast features Usman Mukhtar in the iconic role of Amar (Umro Ayyar), with notable performances by Faran Tahir as Laqqa, along with Sanam Saeed, Ali Kazmi, and Hamza Ali Abbasi. The film aims to bring to life the fantasy elements of the local classical novel “Hamzanama,” focusing on the character Umro Ayyar, a legendary thief and warrior of Tilism-e-Hoshruba. The team unveiled their trailer at WonderCon in March 2024. Production of the film was completed at the beginning of 2024.
